Pandemic delays Dollywood opening

Announced while season passholders were already in the park for the opening of the park, Dollywood issued a statement that the park opening would be delayed due the pandemic. This is the direct opposite of the "opening as planned" announced yesterday. It will be interesting to see how they handle the coming season.

Dollywood Golden Event - Passholder Day 2022

This year at Dollywood, there are special Golden Events for Gold and Diamond pass holders. Today, Dolly came to the park to kick off the season with a media event.  Diamond and Gold pass holders had to register to attend the event, and it filled up quickly. Once we arrived at the event, we were given pink butterflies and pom poms. The Diamond pass holders were given front/center seating in the Celebrity Theater, while Gold pass holders were filling the other seats.  After a warm-up performance by one of the park bands, the lady of the hour came onto stage to thunderous applause and cheers.  Dolly welcomed everyone and then shared news about her new novel with James Patterson called  Run, Rose, Run . An album was also released, and a movie is in the making. She is also hoping to film a movie at Dollywood later in the year.
